NFL executive reportedly feels Rams are favorite to land Odell Beckham
The New York Giants have not ruled out trading Odell Beckham Jr. leading up to the draft, and it sounds as though the talk of the star wide receiver’s availability is being taken seriously at the NFL owners meetings this week.
On Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the Giants are listening to offers for Beckham, and the Los Angeles Rams have informed New York that their first-round pick (No. 23 overall) is available. According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, at least one NFL executive believes the Rams are the “betting favorite” to acquire Beckham.

Beckham has one year and $8.5 million remaining on his rookie contract, and there have been reports that he intends to hold out as long as necessary if the Giants don’t give him a long-term extension. Any team that gives up a first-round pick and then some for OBJ would likely want a commitment that he will sign long-term, which will make facilitating a deal more challenging.
The Rams already have a solid wide receiver corps with Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, but they lost Sammy Watkins in free agency. Adding Beckham would give them a legitimate No. 1 wideout to go along with the numerous other big splashes they have made this offseason.
