Brock Purdy and Nick Bosa had a great exchange in the locker room after the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday night.
Purdy will be starting under center in Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11, which is less than two years after the 49ers selected him with the final pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. After San Francisco came back to beat the Lions 34-31 on Sunday, Bosa had a very simple question for his teammate in the locker room.
“Did you think you’d be this good?” Bosa asked.

Bosa admitted that he has lacked confidence at times during his career even after being the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He seemed genuinely curious how Purdy has found the confidence to succeed at such a high level after being picked last. Purdy indicated that even he is a bit surprised.

Some people still refuse to accept that Purdy is more than a game manager, but one ex-NFL quarterback had a great response to that narrative over the weekend.
Purdy has a great chance to win a Super Bowl before his 25th birthday, which would be a massive accomplishment in itself. The fact that he has reached this point after every team passed on him has to make it that much sweeter.
