Nick Saban reportedly recommended Packers bench Eddie Lacy
Remember when the Green Bay Packers benched Eddie Lacy after he and Alonzo Harris missed curfew in Detroit the night before their Thursday night game? Maybe Lacy’s college coach Nick Saban had something to do with the discipline.
ESPN’s Ed Werder, who was in Green Bay to cover the team’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, provided some information about Lacy’s benching.
Alabama coach Nick Saban told #Packers only way to change Eddie Lacy behavior is take game away from him. Coaches essentially did vs #Lions

It sounds like the move worked. After the benching, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said he felt Lacy had been rejuvenated.
Lacy only rushed five times for four yards in the game, but maybe he’ll put together some bigger results against Dallas.
