The Green Bay Packers are making at least one major change to their coaching staff at the start of the offseason.
ESPN’s Rob Demoovsky and others reported on Monday that the Packers fired longtime defensive coordinator Dom Capers following their blowout loss to the Detroit Lions. Green Bay is expected to make other changes to its defensive coaching staff as well.
Capers had been the defensive coordinator with the Packers since 2009, helping the team win a Super Bowl during the 2010 season. The 67-year-old has been an assistant coach in the NFL since 1986.
The Packers ranked 26th in the NFL this season in scoring defense. They allowed 24.0 points per game.
