Packers QB Brett Hundley traded to Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have been on the lookout for a backup quarterback this offseason, and they appear to have found one with less than two weeks to go before the start of the regular season.

Adam Schefter and Rob Demovsky of ESPN reported on Wednesday that the Green Bay Packers have traded Brett Hundley to Seattle for a 2019 draft pick.

Hundley played in 11 games last season while filling in for an injured Aaron Rodgers, and he struggled quite a bit aside from a couple of strong games. He finished the season with 1,836 yards passing, nine touchdowns and a whopping 12 interceptions. The former UCLA star does have plenty of experience, however, which can be valuable.

The Packers traded for former Cleveland Browns quarterback DeShone Kizer during the offseason, so he will now serve as the primary backup to Rodgers.

Seattle was set at the No. 2 quarterback spot before having to release Trevone Boykin following some disturbing allegations against him. Hundley should fill a fairly significant need for them.
