Patriots reportedly trade Brandin Cooks to Rams for first, sixth-round picks

Brandin Cooks

The Los Angeles Rams’ wild offseason continues.

Even though the Rams lost Sammy Watkins in free agency this offseason, they have made up for it by acquiring Brandin Cooks in a trade with the New England Patriots.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots are trading Cooks and a fourth-round pick to the Rams for a first and sixth-round pick.

The Patriots now hold the Nos. 23 and 31 overall picks in the draft, as well Nos. 43 (via San Francisco) and 63. New England may have traded away Jimmy Garoppolo, but they have plenty of picks to trade up to develop Tom Brady’s successor if they so choose.

The Rams are also out of the Odell Beckham Jr trade sweepstakes following this move, while the Patriots appear to be set on keeping Rob Gronkowski.
