Pete Carroll says Tyler Lockett ‘should be OK’ after leg injury hospitalized him

Tyler Lockett

Tyler Lockett was forced to exit Monday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers with a leg injury that landed him in the hospital, but fortunately it does not sound like the Seattle Seahawks receiver’s season is in jeopardy.

In his appearance on 710 ESPN Seattle on Tuesday, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Lockett spent the night in the hospital with a thigh injury but said he expects him to be fine.

Lockett suffered a contusion that Carroll described after the game as “pretty severe,” so the positive update is obviously a relief. Lockett is Seattle’s leading receiver and has caught 62 passes for 793 yards and six touchdowns this season. The yardage total places him fifth in the NFL.

The Seahawks recently acquired Josh Gordon and have gotten good production out of rookie receiver DK Metcalf, but their Week 11 bye appears to be coming at a perfect time for Lockett.
