Four years ago, actor Rob Lowe caused quite a stir in NFL circles when he tweeted that then-Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning was going to retire following a series of neck surgeries.
Ultimately, Lowe’s stint in the sports media world was short-lived and his tweet was promptly deleted after Peyton’s father, Archie Manning, dismissed the retirement rumors.
Manning would not only return to the football field, but he would later join the Denver Broncos and lead them to a Super Bowl 50 victory over the Carolina Panthers earlier this year. It was only after that victory Manning finally decided to hang them up.

With extra time now on his hands, Manning will seek out a little revenge on Lowe this coming Labor Day.
Comedy Central has announced that along with comedians David Spade, Rob Riggle and Jeff Ross, Manning will take the stage during their next roast in an effort to completely humiliate Lowe.

Whether it’s his DirecTV promotions, ESPN commercials, Papa John’s commercials or guest hosting Saturday Night Live, Manning has proven himself to be a funny guy. So he’ll undoubtedly be coming at Lowe will some pretty good zingers, including a mention or two of the actor’s reporting prowess (or lack thereof).
