Rams not rushing for new contract with Jared Goff
With Carson Wentz signing a new long-term deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, attention turns to the other top quarterback in his draft class and his future.
Los Angeles Rams COO Kevin Demoff said Friday that the Rams are “committed” to quarterback Jared Goff, but there doesn’t appear to be any rush on negotiating a contract extension.
Rams COO Kevin Demoff said the Carson Wentz signing has nothing to do with the timing of the Rams reaching an extension with QB Jared Goff. No timetable set. Indication is talks won’t get serious with Goff until after this season. “The franchise is very committed to Jared Goff”

There has been some chatter about how, as it stands, Goff isn’t a shoo-in to get a second contract. This won’t do a lot to dispel that, but we’ll likely know a whole lot more about his future at the end of the year.
