Report offers update on Broncos player who had scary sideline incident

Tyler Badie collapses on the sideline

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie had a frightening health scare during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, but it sounds like he is doing well given the circumstances.

Badie took a huge hit from Jets linebacker Quincy Williams during the second quarter of the Broncos’ 10-9 win over New York at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Badie, who fumbled on the play, was able to walk off the field under his own power. He then dropped to a knee on the sideline before laying flat on his back.

Trainers and medical personnel rushed over to tend to Badie. The former Missouri player appeared to be moving his limbs, but he was placed on a backboard and taken off the field.

The Broncos officially ruled Badie out for the remainder of the game with a back injury. On Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Badie has “full movement in his arms and legs” and was able to fly back to Denver. The third-year back might spend time on injured reserve with a back injury, but he has a chance to return later in the season.

Badie was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Broncos signed him off Baltimore’s practice squad late last season. Badie was on Denver’s practice squad for most of last year and the start of this season before being elevated in Week 2.
