Roger Goodell botches announcement of rescheduled NFL Draft in Las Vegas
The first round of the virtual NFL Draft went off without any technological hitches on Thursday, and the only big blunder came from the commissioner himself.
Prior to announcing the Las Vegas Raiders’ selection at No. 19, Goodell made an announcement about a future draft in Las Vegas. The 2020 draft was originally set to be held there before the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the in-person event in favor of a virtual draft.
Goodell announced that Las Vegas would get a second chance to host the draft — but misspoke and announced that the city would host the 2020 event.
Someone re-charge Roger’s battery.

Goodell didn’t bother correcting his mistake, but the Raiders confirmed in a statement that Las Vegas would host the 2022 draft instead.
Whatever Goodell meant, it’s good that Vegas will get a second chance. Hopefully they bring back the boat idea.
