Rookie Chase Winovich a good sport about Tom Brady cutting his hair

New England Patriots rookie pass-rusher Chase Winovich was the victim of a little hazing during the team’s final preseason game last week, but the third-round pick took it in stride.

Like Clay Matthews before him, Winovich is quickly becoming famous for his flowing blonde locks. Tom Brady decided during Thursday’s game against the New York Giants that the hair is getting a bit too long, so he snuck up behind the rookie and gave him a little haircut on the sideline.

As you can see, Brady got a real kick out of himself. Winovich wasn’t bothered by it, either, and he later told reporters he only wished he could have been more prepared for the trim.

“If I would have known this was happening I would have fixed my hair,” Winovich said, according to CBS Boston. “I think a lot of people would pay a lot of money to have Tom Brady as a barber. Luckily, I kind of have that option for free.”

Winovich added that it was “cool” to be able to watch a game from the sideline while getting his hair cut, so perhaps Brady can arrange for a more in-depth appointment during a lopsided game later in the season.

Brady and Winovich both went to Michigan, so they probably have a good relationship because of that. We saw from the way the defensive end taunted an opponent in college that he likes to have a good time on the field, and that even includes when getting his most recognizable feature altered. Winovich has turned heads in the preseason and is expected to play a major role for Bill Belichick’s defense this year.
