Not that it was a secret, but Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak grabbed attention after Super Bowl LX on Sunday, when he confirmed that he will be the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
“You guys know I’m going to Las Vegas,” Kubiak said during an interview NFL Network. “I’m fired up about it. Hell yeah, I’m going. Of course, I’m going.”
It will be quite a transition for Kubiak, who is going from the best team in the NFL to arguably the worst. At the same time, it is a welcome development for him, as he becomes a head coach for the first time in his career.
While Kubiak is leaving the Seahawks, at least he’s doing so in the best way possible — by winning the Super Bowl.
Plus, he’ll always have Sam Darnold’s support.
“Klint’s the man. He’s a great person, a great person and a really smart, smart guy, really smart football mind,” Darnold told reporters after Seattle’s 29-13 win over the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., via Arash Markazi of the Sporting Tribune.
“I think he’s going to do great things in Vegas.”
Kubiak will have his work cut out for him when he starts his new job with the Raiders, who won just three games in the 2025 season. But there’s an opportunity for him to be the franchise’s messiah, possibly along with quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who is widely rumored to beLas Vegas’ No. 1 pick at the 2026 NFL Draft.
