Sean McDonough’s voice cracks on big plays (Video)
This is probably not how announcer Sean McDonough wanted his huge calls during an NFL playoff game to sound.
McDonough and Jon Gruden teamed up to call Saturday’s wild card playoff game between the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs on ESPN. During a couple of huge plays in the fourth quarter, McDonough got so excited about the action that his voice cracked.
Take a look at his call on Eric Decker’s touchdown catch that gave the Titans a 22-21 lead:

Then on a strip returned for six that was eventually called back, McDonough’s voice cracked again:

Like many said, this was the best/worst call of the playoffs.
Between these voice-cracking calls and the awkwardness with Jon Gruden, it was quite a playoff game for McDonough.
