Titans’ Byard says he expected to get decked for disrespecting Cowboys star
Tennessee Titans defensive back Kevin Byard went out of his way to disrespect the Dallas Cowboys after intercepting a pass in the end zone on Monday night, and he seemed surprised he got away with it.
Following his interception of Dak Prescott in the first quarter, Byard sprinted from the end zone to the 50-yard line so he could celebrate on the Cowboys star at midfield.

If the move looked familiar, that’s probably because Terrell Owens did the same thing back in 2000 when he scored a touchdown in Dallas for the San Francisco 49ers. When T.O. tried to pull the stunt a second time, he was laid out by a Cowboys player. Byard told reporters after Tennessee’s win that he was expecting the same to happen to him.

If Byard intercepted another pass and went back to the Cowboys star, perhaps a member of the team would have tried to punish him for it.
Between Byard’s disrespectful celebration and New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas paying tribute to Joe Horn with his cell phone shenanigans, it was a week for throwback touchdown celebrations across the NFL.
