Tom Brady addresses claim he got $75 million to play in a flag football game

Tom Brady responded Monday to a wild claim that he was paid $75 million to take part in a flag football game in Saudi Arabia.

On Monday’s edition of “Wake Up Barstool,” host Dave Portnoy claimed that Brady was offered $75 million to play in the “Fanatics Flag Football Classic,” set to be played in Riyadh next March. The event will feature an array of high-profile current and former players, and is being supported by the government’s General Entertainment Authority.

Brady took notice of Portnoy’s claim and took to X to mock Portnoy’s claim.

“Are we just picking numbers out of a hat and reporting them?” Brady wrote. “While we’re breaking news… Elvis is doing the halftime show, and Babe Ruth is gonna sign some autographs for fans. Also I heard Dave prefers floppy pizza. Who cares about facts right?”

There is no public information on how much Brady and other attendees will be paid for their involvement in the event. The figure of $75 million is believable, however, as a number of high-profile golfers received even more than that to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league.

In addition, Barstool Sports personality Dan “Big Cat” Katz recently claimed on his “The Yak” podcast that Saudi Arabia offered him and Portnoy $10 million just to attend a boxing match in the country.

Regardless of what Brady is being paid for his involvement in the flag football event, he does not necessarily need the money. He has an enormous broadcasting contract with FOX that he insists he plans to see out, even though some are skeptical that he actually will.
