Report: Tom Brady has not officially committed to playing in 2018
As if the New England Patriots needed any more offseason drama, now we have this.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Tom Brady has not officially committed to playing for the Pats in the upcoming season.
Brady was not present for the start of offseason team activities because he is in Qatar doing work with his charity. And although he is expected to play next season, the mere fact that this is a question puts the Pats in an awkward spot.
New England traded Jimmy Garoppolo to the 49ers last season with the expectation that Brady would remain the team’s franchise quarterback for at least the upcoming season. This could just be some panic and a tactic from New England to get Brady to officially commit to the team, but it also underscores some of the discord between Brady and the Pats that seems to have heightened recently.
