Tua Tagovailoa makes big decision with Dolphins’ OTAs
Tua Tagovailoa is seeking a contract extension from the Miami Dolphins, and it would appear the quarterback is confident he can get one without holding out.
Tagovailoa was present for the start of organized team activities with the Dolphins on Monday, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is in the building for the start of Dolphins OTAs, per source. The QB is slated to become the next quarterback to receive a big payday, but the sides are in negotiations. Tagovailoa said he was planning on attending the workouts.

There was some talk that Tagovailoa might not attend voluntary OTAs as his representation negotiates a long-term extension with the Dolphins. He had already missed some time in recent weeks, though he said he was planning to attend OTAs. While Tagovailoa’s presence on Monday was not a shock, it could indicate that contract talks are trending in the right direction.
Tagovailoa is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He is set to make $23.1 million. There are currently five quarterbacks — Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts — who make more than $50 million per year on an average annual basis. Tagovailoa is unlikely to accept a salary that is lower than that.
A reporter on Sunday shared some details about where things stand between Tagovailoa and the Dolphins.
