Tua Tagovailoa is rehabbing with the hope of being able to throw for NFL teams ahead of April’s draft, and the former Alabama star appears to be well on his way to accomplishing that goal.
Tagovailoa underwent a hip scan on Monday, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the feedback doctors gave the quarterback was “as positive as possible.” A CT scan showed that Tagovailoa’s fracture has healed and he has good range of motion.
If Tua’s health continues this way, the expectation is for a very good medical exam at the Combine. https://t.co/W1PKrxzNUo

Tagovailoa should be able to resume football activities in a month if everything continues to go well, and that could put him on track to throw at Alabama’s Pro Day in March. Either way, Tua’s agent recently said the 21-year-old is expected to hold a session where he throws for NFL scouts at some point before the draft.
Considering Tagovailoa suffered what looked like a devastating injury in November, many have been pleasantly surprised with how well he is recovering. Tagovailoa threw for 2,840 yards with 33 touchdowns and just three interceptions this past season for Alabama, and he still has a great chance to go in the first round of the draft despite the injury.
