Tua Tagovailoa expected to throw for teams ahead of NFL Draft
Tua Tagovailoa’s status ahead of the NFL Draft has been a big question, and it sounds like the former Alabama quarterback is closer to being ready for action sooner than many would have expected.
Tagovailoa is expected to throw for teams ahead of the draft, his agent told AL.com on Tuesday, via Mike Rodak. Rodak says Tagovailoa is expected to have a 40-minute session where the quarterback throws 60-80 passes for scouts.
Agent Leigh Steinberg told Rodak that Tagovailoa could throw at Alabama’s Pro Day if he is ready by March. If not, he could hold his own workout a month later.
Tagovailoa underwent surgery on his hip on November 18 and was given an excellent prognosis. He is expected to make a full recovery. Tua threw for 2,840 yards with 33 touchdowns and just three interceptions this season for Alabama. He was considering a return to Alabama for his senior season, but he must have received a strong prospect report from the NFL that led him to enter the draft.
