Vernon Adams will head to Seattle to try out for the Seahawks next week after going undrafted.
Adams, a former FCS star at Eastern Washington before having success at Oregon, has not signed as a free agent. Instead he will try out for the Seahawks, perhaps believing that they can get the most out of him since he has some similarities to Russell Wilson as both are shorter than six-feet tall and are excellent runners.
In addition to having Adams at a rookie mini-camp May 6-8, the Seahawks signed former TCU QB Trevone Boykin.
Adams was not heavily recruited out of high school so he is used to being overlooked. That probably led to this post he shared on Instagram:
Adams threw for 26 touchdowns against six interceptions in his lone season with Oregon. His 10.2 yards per attempt and 179.1 passer rating were second in the nation.
