Brandt Snedeker thanks Hunter Mahan’s wife for going into labor

Brandt-SnedekerBrandt Snedeker on Sunday won his second PGA Tour tournament of the season when he posted a score of 16-under at the Canadian Open. The third round on Saturday was Snedeker’s best, as he shot a 63 to put himself in great position heading into the final round. But the biggest boost he received may have come before the third round even began.

Hunter Mahan led the Canadian Open after 36 holes when he withdrew to be with his wife, former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Kandi Harris, who had gone into labor. Snedeker made sure to thank them after his big win.

“Zoe (Mahan’s newborn daughter) will be getting a very nice baby gift from me,” Snedeker said, via the Sporting News. “I can’t thank Kandi enough for going into labor early. I don’t know if I’d be sitting here if she hadn’t. But that is a way more important thing than a golf tournament. I missed a golf tournament when my first was born, and it was the best decision I ever made. I’m sure Hunter would say the same thing.”

Mahan is only 31, so he will have plenty of time to rack up wins on the PGA Tour. The birth of your first child only happens once, so most people will agree that he made the right choice. And if it matters to you, his wife happens to be one of the better looking WAGs in golf. Mahan’s abrupt exit was a win for everyone.
