Max Homa throwing his club

Max Homa is getting called out for his actions on Sunday shortly after calling out his fellow golfers for his on-course behavior.

Homa threw his golf club in frustration on Sunday while playing in the final round of the RBC Heritage at at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C. The 35-year-old got stuck in a waste area on No. 15 and failed to get himself back on the fairway, prompting the outburst.

Max Homa a week ago: “I don't like when people beat up the golf course… makes us look very, very spoiled”

You can’t slam Sergio Garcia at The Masters & then do this. It’s so hypocritical. pic.twitter.com/olISoQw2yr

Homa’s outburst in itself is one thing, but it came less than a week after he had been critical of golfers who “break clubs” and “beat up the golf course,” saying it makes them look “spoiled” and sets a bad example.

🚨😤🏌️ #SPOILED — Max Homa was asked about the code of conduct policy at The Masters and what a violation of that policy would be in his eyes. Max appeared to use Sergio Garcia’s outburst at Augusta as an example: “I don't like when people beat up the golf course because we deal… pic.twitter.com/Iy5iZpYwGQ

Homa’s comments came in response to Sergio Garcia’s outburst at The Masters, in which he angrily smashed his driver against a tee box.

In fairness to Homa, he openly admitted that he loses his temper at times before making his comments. However, it’s not a great look to toss a club around so quickly after making such pointed remarks.

Homa did wind up posting a -2 in the fourth round of the tournament, good enough to finish 1-under overall.
