Steve Williams open to working with Tiger Woods again

Steve-Williams-Wishes-He-Left-Tiger-SoonerTiger Woods played his best golf when Steve Williams was carrying his clubs. Injuries and one of the biggest sex scandals in sports have certainly played a role in Tiger’s downfall, but some wonder if he shot himself in the foot by firing his old caddie. Is there a possibility of the two reuniting in the future?

Williams, who has caddied for Adam Scott since 2011, recently announced that he is retiring from full-time caddying. However, the 50-year said he is still open to working part-time next season — even with Woods.

“He’s definitely someone I’d consider,” Williams told The Associated Press on Tuesday. “He’s a tremendous talent, but it’s hard to say right now because it’s only two weeks since I’ve hung up the clubs.”

Williams said in 2011 that Tiger fired him after Williams asked to work with Scott while Woods was injured. The New Zealand native said he was “shocked” by the way his relationship with Woods ended. He later called winning a tournament with Scott the best win of his life.

The odds of Williams and Woods working together again are incredibly slim. Tiger hasn’t won a major since 2008. If he wins another, do you think he wants people saying Williams was the missing link? I highly doubt it.
