Tyler Seguin sends ‘steers and queers’ tweet about Texas, says he was hacked
Tyler Seguin has had a week to forget. First he gets traded from the Boston Bruins to the Dallas Stars on July 4, supposedly because the Bruins thought he was too much of a party animal. Then his parents have to comment on whether or not he’s too much of a partier. Then he supposedly hosted a “trade party” the night he was traded. And now he’s doing some damage control after a homophobic tweet was sent from his Twitter account.
The new Stars forward tweeted “Only steers and queers in Texas, and I’m not a cow” on Saturday night. Deadspin captured the original tweet:
Seguin immediately deleted the tweet and claimed he was hacked:
Twitter hacking has to stop. My apologies

Seguin tweeted earlier in the day that he was driving back to Toronto (possibly from Cape Cod), so it’s possible someone grabbed his phone and tweeted that from his account. Or maybe he (or someone else) was just quoting “Full Metal Jacket” at the time. We’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
