Mutilated body found nearby Olympic volleyball courts in Rio

Rio Olympics

The Olympics in Rio de Janeiro continue to deal with PR problems, and this latest tidbit certainly will not help improve public perception.

According to Reuters, pieces of a mutilated body were found washed up nearby the beach volleyball courts in Rio. The pieces washed up very close to the exact spot where the beach volleyball matches for the Olympics will take place.

The Olympics begin Aug. 5, and this marks the first time a South American country will be hosting the events. In addition to signs of crime in the city such as this, Rio is awaiting emergency funds to help put on the Olympics amid a financial crisis.

With a little over a month to go, the situation ahead of the Olympics in Rio is starting to resemble what we saw with the Winter Games in Sochi two years ago, where construction was behind and the bathroom situation was a mess.
