Sixers expect Joel Embiid to be ready for preseason
Joel Embiid finally appears ready to start his NBA career.
The 22-year-old big man has been working out and will be ready for preseason after two lost years, according to Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown.
“I just left my third consecutive day working out with Joel 45 minutes ago,” Brown said on a recent episode of “The Lowe Post” podcast, via Derek Bodner of Philly Mag. “Physically, mentally, recent medical scans, everything is pointing in the right direction. We’re just very excited.”
Brown went on to add that Embiid is on track to play in preseason.
The former No. 3 overall pick, Embiid’s career has stalled due to recurring foot injuries. He’s healthy now, apparently, and has looked good in the brief glimpses we’ve seen of him. A healthy Embiid would mean that the Sixers could really be interesting in the season to come.
