Cody Ellis of Saint Louis rocks a blue faux-hawk haircut for tournament (Picture)

Saint Louis is one of the most intriguing teams in the NCAA tournament field this year, in that they are a small school from a small conference that has played well enough to earn a No. 4 seed. They’re also that school that watched the Selection Show from an electronics store. The Billikens ripped through their regular season schedule and lost only six games all year. From the look of it, they also have as much team spirit as any team in the nation.

Senior forward Cody Ellis felt as though the Saint Louis royal blue in his jersey just wasn’t going to cut it, so he busted out the blue faux-hawk for the team’s first tournament game. This may be a move that’s more commonly seen from youth soccer players taking part in the annual Memorial Day Weekend tournament in their hometown, but I’m not mad at the man. Sometimes you have to find ways to express excitement during the most important game of the year.
