BYU sophomore DB Kai Nacua is probably facing expulsion — and a suspension at minimum — for his role in Monday’s brawl at the conclusion of the Miami Beach Bowl.
Nacua was caught by TV cameras running over and punching Memphis TE Alan Cross in the back of the head during the fight.
Nacua was probably looking for some retaliation for being tagged earlier in the fight. Videos showed he threw a punch in the early stages of the brawl and then got socked in the left cheek. Cameras showed him with blood on his cheek and by his left eye, which probably came from that punch:


Given BYU’s emphasis on a strict student code of conduct/honor code, they probably will not want someone like that representing the university in the future. We imagine several other players from the team will face serious discipline ranging from suspensions to expulsions.
