College Football Player Tased After Getting into Naked Three-Point Stance
If that’s not the most enjoyable title I’ve ever written since joining the LBS staff then, frankly, I have no idea what is. You just can’t make this stuff up, I’m afraid. We’ve had our fair share of Taser stories this year, but this one tops them all. Fear not, Phillies fans, you’re off the hook again with this one.
A 19-year-old Oregon State lineman, Tyler Patrick Thomas, was kicked off the Oregon State Football team on Monday after getting himself in a ridiculous situation that resulted in him being arrested on charges of first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
According to information from the Corvallis Police Department, at about 4:51 a.m., police were called to 519 N.W. 14th Street after a 32-year-old woman reported there was a naked man in the upstairs office of her residence.
When officers arrived, they ordered him to get on the ground several times, but he refused.
Then Thomas, who had reportedly been drinking, got into a “three-point stance” and lunged at the officers, who Tased him.
Unlike the Phillies fan who rushed the field, Thomas absolutely deserved to be Tased. After reading the description of the incident, I see no other option the police had in this situation. I still can’t believe he actually dropped down into a three-point stance and faced officers while he was butt-naked.
