Last year, Devon Still and his daughter Leah became one of the heartwarming stories of the NFL season.
Leah was diagonosed with Stage 4 pediatric cancer in June and given a 50/50 chance of survival. Devon was released by the Bengals after, understandably, not being able to commit 100% to football. However, they signed him to the practice squad to help him pay for her treatments. Leah had successful surgery to remove a tumor from her abdomen and went through rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and stem-cell treatments.

The Bengals sold nearly 15,000 of Still’s jersey and raised over $1 million, which went to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to help fund their research of pediatric cancers.
Fast forward to the present, and Devon Still received some great news regarding his daughter on Tuesday. To mark the momentous occasion, he posted the above photo to his Instagram account along with the following update:
“That moment you get the best news you’ve ever received and don’t know what to do so you just flex!! We got Leah’s MIBG Scans back tonight and the doctors told us they didn’t see any active disease in her body!!! We still have to wait for her MRI and bone biopsy results later this week. But the doctors feel very optimistic about them because of the results from today. So for now we celebrate!! #LeahStrong #PrayersWork #ThankYouEveryOne #ImSoHappyIFeelNumb #BeatCancer”
After everything both Devon and Leah have been through thus far, to see them together and happy is certainly great. With the positive news they have received it looks as though things are headed in the right direction and we can only hope they continue to do so.
