Rex Ryan’s weight loss is impressive: He’s down 130 pounds
Rex Ryan looks like a totally different guy from the porker we all got used to seeing on the New York Jets’ sidelines during his first few seasons as the team’s head coach.
Last year, we noted that Rex was down 120 pounds since undergoing lap band surgery in 2010. Ryan was alarmed to find out he weighed 348 pounds upon stepping on the scale before the 2009 AFC Championship Game, which led him to make the lifestyle change. As of last year, he was weighing 230 pounds and had a 36-inch waist.
Ryan has apparently dropped even more weight since.
Ryan was one of the coaches on NFL Network’s four-part Total Access Live “Coach Speak” series and, according to NJ.com, he said on the program that he’s lost 130 pounds since the surgery. That would mean Ryan weighs around 120 pounds, which is a pretty comfortable weight for a man of his size and build.
Many people have been plagued by weight issues during their lives, so I’m sure many of us can relate to Rex and applaud what he’s done … even if he underwent an operation to help get there.
