Video: Chris Pronger Takes Stick to Eye
Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger will miss at least 2-3 weeks after taking a stick to the eye during Monday’s game against the Leafs. Pronger was hit in the face by forward Mikhail Grabovski’s stick on a follow through. He went down immediately, began screaming in pain, and he skated off the ice with blurred vision.
Luckily Pronger’s vision normalized and he was sent home. The poor guy is expected to see an eye doctor the next several days, and the team his hoping he’ll be able to skate in the next 7-10 days.
Here’s a video of the freak play:
The Flyers GM says Pronger will wear a visor when he returns. You have to wonder why guys aren’t already wearing visors, if not full cages. I know, I know, it’s not the macho thing, but it sure can save you a few scars and teeth. And in Pronger’s case, your vision.
