Brazilian soccer team Santos apparently learned nothing from Spain’s Olympic basketball team. Just like the Spanish team that posed for a picture prior to the ’08 Olympics in Beijing by pulling their eyes back to make a slant eye gesture, an add shows several Santos players doing the same thing. Here’s a video of the ad being discussed via Hyper Local and Dirty Tackle:
Here I was thinking Brazil was an advanced country, and then we see this. We’ve presented plenty of examples of racism here at LBS, some of which were really bad (like this ad from the Clippers). But man, that’s awful. Here’s what I’m trying to figure out. What’s worse: thinking a picture like that is humorous, or being dumb enough to do it?
