Justine thumped her throughout the whole of her 2007 season and it seems that everytime she did beat her, Serena had an excuse.

French: “I’ve never played worse in my life.”
Wimbledon: “I was injured.”
US Open: “I was Ill.”

Serena, if you were injured or ill you shouldn’t have played, and if you are consistently ill everytime you play Justine, you should ponder retirement. For once in your life, give some credit to har-working Justine.
And do any of you notice the hardship of Justine’s life compared to Serena’s?

Justine lost her mother at 12, her favourite nephew Romain, her sister, her great-grandmother, her grandmother and her grandfather all under tragic circumstances.

Serena: a half-sister. WOW!!

Verily, get some sense and give Justine some credit. Serena is beautiful to watch, but i hate her attitude and personality. Justine reigns supreme.

As for Justine? None of the girls on the WTA have much respect for her anyway… her dodgy toilet stops, unnecessary injury breaks, the way she stops the flow of a person’s game if it doesn’t go her way.

Serena had a positive record against Justine till recently, she won most of their matches 4-5 years ago, but hey, she lost 3 times in a row, separated by 2 months each at least. If a top 10 player cannot stay healthy for at least a week at a time, all through half the season, she should just retire.

And get your facts right. The French open encounter was in the semifinals, not the final. I daresay you never even saw it yourself, but just bank on nth-hand information, which is biased anyway. Although I do not wish to start on this, it was a silly incident, wherein Serena either was a poor sport herself, serving even after she saw the raised hand, or was greedy, asking for a replay after faulting(assuming she served as usual). Smart Justine!

And being a good sport extends beyond the court as well. Serena should learn that singles tennis is a game of two, you cannot win or lose unless there is someone on the other side of the net, and errors mean the same as breathtaking winners. If she is just as erratic as 4 years ago, let her relearn the game.

All this is just to make you see sense(which sadly may not be possible), but though I admire Justine greatly and believe her to be the best woman’s player ever, I still credit Serena for her accomplishments, like Justine does. Serena should take a leaf out of her book. If past incidents still prey on anyone’s mind, they will not change the present. Justine is winning, and Serena is getting her mammoth ass kicked repeatedly, while wallowing in grand delusions(it is always upto her to win or lose a match, apparently).

Justine is a lot shorter and less powerful than either Williams, but she has still managed to win at least one Slam every year since 2003. If that isn’t consistency(she’ll eclipse the 8 Slams tally easily next year), I don’t know what is.

Just give credit where it is due.
