Hulk Hogan scrubbed from WWE website

Hulk Hogan Radio Shack

Something is going on with Hulk Hogan and the WWE, and it doesn’t seem pretty.

Early Friday morning, Hogan sent a bizarre tweet about God being in control of his destiny.

Sometime either shortly before or shortly after the tweet was sent, people began noticing that Hogan is no longer listed as a WWE alumni or Hall of Famer. No Hogan merchandise is being sold in the official WWE shop, either. It seems like the organization is making an effort to cut all ties with arguably its most popular entertainer.

So what gives? The most popular theory is that the WWE was distancing itself from Hogan before a 2012 radio interview that featured Hulk using the N-word went viral. You can hear the full audio of the interview here, but the relevant segment is below (NSFW language, obviously):

The Daily Beast dug up the clip from Hogan’s WCW days when Booker T called him the N-word on live television. It looked like Booker T regretted it the second he said it.

The interview is three years old, but we all know how the internet can recycle controversy like it just happened five minutes ago. It’s also possible that there’s a newer racist rant that the WWE expects to surface, though there has been no official word from Vince McMahon or anyone else.

Hogan has admitted to going through some tough times in his life, so you have to wonder how he’ll handle this.

UPDATE: Hogan was reportedly fired over some alleged racist comments he made while his sex tape was being filmed several years ago. You can read the details here.
