Joel Embiid made the funniest social media blunder during World Series
Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid, who has faced heavy criticism and even an investigation in recent days, did not grow up with the game of baseball. However, that did not stop him from taking in Game 1 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.
Following a walk-off grand slam courtesy of Freddie Freeman, Embiid’s lack of baseball knowledge and flawed terminology became apparent.
Bases loaded grand slam? Jesus Christ

Embiid clearly confused the term “home run” with “grand slam” and was unaware that a grand slam only ever happens with the bases loaded. It immediately prompted a roast from fans all over social media.
“Of all of the kinds of grand slams, bases loaded ones are easily top 5,” one user quipped.
Others took the opportunity to criticize Embiid for not playing due to, as he calls it, “load management.”
“Take a page out of Freddie’s book and play,” another user wrote.
After missing every preseason game, Embiid has yet to make his season debut for the 0-2 76ers. The next opportunity comes on Sunday afternoon against the Indiana Pacers, while his next opportunity to lock down some baseball verbiage comes on Saturday night in Game 2.
