Watch: Mookie Betts gives Yankees fan dropped cell phone back
The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox may have the most heated rivalry in baseball, but that won’t prevent Mookie Betts from showing some common courtesy.
Betts ran over to the right field line on a fly ball by Giancarlo Stanton in the bottom of the fourth inning of Game 3 of the ALDS on Monday night. The ball went out of play, but Betts noticed that a fan sitting by the wall had dropped his cell phone onto the field of play. Rather than let it be, Betts did the nice thing and picked up the phone and gave it back to the fan. The two then shared a high-five as a thank you:

Guarantee this guy will be the 1st one to boo Mookie the next time he makes a play in shouting distance. pic.twitter.com/U3LLbUzV6m

That’s a small but meaningful gesture that shows what a considerate guy Betts is.
