Report: Rangers still interested in Nolan Arenado trade despite Todd Frazier signing
The Texas Rangers made a signing on Sunday, but it may not prevent them from pursuing Nolan Arenado.
The Rangers signed Todd Frazier to a one-year deal that includes a club option for 2021. The deal calls for Frazier to receive a guarantee of $5 million, according to Mark Feinsand.

Frazier is a third baseman who can also play first base. Acquiring him will not take the Rangers out of the running to acquire Nolan Arenado in a trade, according to MLB Network’s on Morosi. Morosi says Texas will continue to pursue the Colorado Rockies third baseman.
Sources: #Rangers will continue their efforts to acquire 3B Nolan Arenado via trade from #Rockies even after agreeing to a free-agent contract with Todd Frazier. Frazier could play 1B in the event Texas lands Arenado. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Morosi believes the Rangers have a desirable trade chip in Sam Huff, whom they could offer Colorado.
The #Rangers are not viewed as favorites to acquire Nolan Arenado from the #Rockies at this point, sources say. However, Rangers C/1B prospect Sam Huff is one name that could intrigue Colorado in Arenado talks. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Arenado, 28, has made five straight All-Star teams and is in the second year of an 8-year, $260 million contract extension. A previous report said he had a 50-50 chance of being traded.
