Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun was far from a gentleman on Wednesday in his team’s interconference matchup against the Boston Celtics.
The Rockets trailed the Celtics 103-78 midway through the fourth quarter at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Frustration got the better of Sengun at that point, as he got himself ejected from the contest following an altercation with female referee Jenna Reneau.
Sengun felt like he got fouled as he lost the ball along the baseline. He pleaded his case to a stone-faced Reneau before angrily walking away. The Rockets star appeared to mutter some not-so-nice words directed at Reneau as he turned around.
“He’s up on me! You’re a b—h,” Sengun appeared to say.
“F—ing b—h,” he seemed to add as he walked off.

Sengun: “He’s up on me.. you a b*tch! F*cking b*tch”
Brown: “Woah! Hey, get him out of here!”
Ref: “He can’t call me that, no!”
As he was getting ejected, Sengun called her a b*tch for a third time. pic.twitter.com/UPkLYsQynK
It’s not clear if that’s really what Sengun said. But it was enough for Reneau to eject him from the contest without the warning of a first technical foul. Reneau explained as much in a later conversation with Sengun’s teammate, Amen Thompson.
It was a quiet night for Sengun, who had one of his rougher outings of the season against the Celtics. The Turkish big man finished with 13 points on 5/12 shooting and was a -22 during his time on the floor as his Rockets lost 114-93.
