While Illinois and Indiana battle to host the Chicago Bears’ next stadium, Iowa appears to have turned it into a three-way rumble.
Former Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball superstar Caitlin Clark even chimed in on the possibility of the NFC North franchise coming over to the Hawkeye State.
In an Instagram Story on Wednesday, the Indiana Fever star point guard reacted to reports of a possible Bears move to Iowa, writing, “This is not something I thought I’d see,” along with four laughing emojis.

Interestingly, Clark is with the Indiana Fever, the WNBA franchise based in one of the states looking to lure the Bears.
As reported by Front Office Sports, a bill was filed in the Iowa Legislature, which partly aims to attract an NFL franchise to Iowa.
While nothing is certain at the moment, just the idea of the Bears — or any other major pro sports franchise — establishing its presence in Iowa is enough to excite sports fans in the state. Iowa doesn’t have a team that plays in the NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLB, but the clamor is clearly there, especially for a football squad.
Clark knows how passionate Iowa sports fans are, as she enjoyed tremendous support from them during her legendary run with the Hawkeyes.
In four seasons with Iowa women’s basketball, she averaged 28.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.1 rebounds through 139 games.
