The Boston Celtics officially announced Kemba Walker as a member of their team over the weekend, and fans who have been supporting them for at least the last 15 years or so may have a chance to show love to their All-Star point guard without spending a dime.
Walker wore No. 15 during his time at UConn and with the Charlotte Hornets, but that number is retired for Tom Heinsohn in Boston. Instead, Walker will wear No. 8 with the Celtics. You may recall that he is not the first Walker to wear No. 8 in Boston.

That would be Antoine Walker, a three-time All-Star who was a fan favorite with the Celtics in the late-1990s and early-2000s. Fortunately, Boston has classic uniforms and hasn’t changed its look since Walker was with the team. That means anyone who has an Antoine Walker jersey hanging around can wear it to support Kemba Walker, and no one will know the difference.
Antoine Walker may have become the butt of some jokes since he retired, but he’s about to become popular again by default.
