Like many of us, Philadelphia 76ers forward Dario Saric sees something truly special in his fellow rookie teammate Joel Embiid.
After the Sixers picked up their first win of the season on Friday night on the heels of 25 points and seven rebounds from Embiid, Saric commented on the ridiculous potential of the Cameroonian big man.
“Now he is great, but one day he will be you know really star,” Saric said, per Brian Seltzer of Sixers.com. “He got more than, I don’t know, 10, 12, 15 All-Star Game. He’ll be MVP of league because that guy, he can. I’m very happy because I have the chance to play with someone like him.”
Though he’s been limited to just 22.2 minutes a night in six appearances so far this season, that hasn’t stopped Embiid from putting up gaudy numbers of 18.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. Between the MVP chants that Embiid has been receiving and the crimes on MVPs that he’s been racking up, it’s pretty easy to see where Saric is coming from in his evaluation.
