Isaiah Thomas had Lucky Charms at draft lottery for good luck
Landing the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft requires a bit of good luck and Isaiah Thomas did his best to make sure it was on the side of the Celtics on Tuesday.
Heading into the lottery, Boston had 15.6 percent chance of selecting in the top spot. Those aren’t impossible odds to overcome, but they don’t inspire the greatest amount of confidence either.
The Celtics were represented at the lottery by their all-star guard Isaiah Thomas, who had a little something with him he hoped would help have his team in position to draft either Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram on June 23. That something was a bag of Lucky Charms cereal.

The most likely scenario for the Celtics was to end up with the fifth pick (26.5 percent). However, they fared a bit better than expected as they will be third on the clock, behind the Sixers and Lakers.
Earlier in the day, Dikembe Mutombo prematurely tweeted the Sixers would get the top pick. While that ended up being the case, Thomas’ bag of Lucky Charms did prove to be usefel nonetheless. That’s what we’re going with, anyway.
