Klay Thompson did not hide his nausea Saturday when he learned one player was being compared to his former teammate, Steph Curry.
The Dallas Mavericks star spoke to a reporter following his team’s 111-107 loss to the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Thompson was asked to weigh in on Rockets guard Reed Sheppard being referred to as “Cocaine Curry” by some fans of the team.
The reporter wasn’t even finished asking the question, but Thompson already had a disgusted look on his face.
“I think Reed’s a great shooter,” Thompson said with a scowl. “I don’t think anyone should be in the same sentence as Steph, though. That’s crazy. That’s a little crazy.”
Chopped it up with Klay Thompson for his thoughts on another shooter — Reed Sheppard.

Thompson saw his relationship with the Warriors deteriorate over the last few years, eventually leading to his departure from the team. But his respect for Curry as the greatest shooter of all time clearly remains intact.
Sheppard has made strides as a shooter in his second NBA season. The Rockets sophomore has shot 39.0% from three on over 6 attempts per game after being a subpar shooter in his rookie season. However, he remains an entire solar system apart from Curry in terms of shooting.
Curry leads the league with 4.5 made threes on 11.5 attempts per contest on 39.1% shooting despite defenses game-planning to stop him every night.
It didn’t help Sheppard’s case Saturday that he went 0/4 from deep in the Rockets’ win over the Mavericks, leaving Thompson unimpressed.
