Klay Thompson causes big stir with latest social media move
It may be DEFCON 1 time for the Golden State Warriors and longtime star Klay Thompson.
The beloved four-time Warriors champion Thompson caused a major frenzy on Friday with his latest move on social media. Thompson unfollowed the Warriors on his Instagram page and deleted virtually all content related to the team from the page as well. The move was noted by many, including KNBR in San Francisco.

As part of the purge, Thompson apparently deleted some classic Warriors moments from his page too.

This comes as Thompson, who will turn 35 next season, is about to hit unrestricted free agency. Though the Splash Brother is an iconic lifelong Warrior, there are serious doubts about whether Golden State, a second-apron luxury-tax team in dire need of chopping payroll, will be able to give Thompson the new contract that he wants. The concerns from the Warriors are entirely reasonable too since Thompson has multiple serious lower-body injuries on his ledger and is coming off one of his worst career seasons by way of both scoring production and efficiency.
The last few months have already seen several outside suitors emerge for the five-time All-Star Thompson, including one whom he is said to share mutual interest with. With free agency officially set to open on June 30, the pressure may be on for the Warriors.
