Knicks use TV graphic to justify Kristaps Porzingis trade
The New York Knicks made a blockbuster trade when they dealt Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks during the week, and they seem to be doing what they can to convince fans they made the right move.
During Sunday’s game between the Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies, MSG, the team-owned TV network that airs their games, shared this graphic of Porzingis. Rather than merely highlighting his career accomplishments, they noted the big man’s faults and negative acts while with the Knicks.

Yes, they pointed out how many games he missed due to injury and that he skipped an exit meeting with the team two years ago. Is that unnecessary? Probably. This doesn’t exactly make them out to be player-friendly.
The bottom line is Porzingis did not want to remain with the team long term, so they traded him instead. They got back a decent package of players and a few future first-round picks in return and will now have enough cap space to potentially make a huge splash in free agency.
