Tristan Thompson expressed some frustration this week over the fact that everyone is leaving the Cavaliers for dead now that LeBron James has left Cleveland, but many of his opponents feel he got carried away with his impassioned defense of his team.
When asked on Thursday about the uphill battle the Cavs are facing, Thompson became annoyed and started talking about everything that happened last season. He also took shots at the top teams in the East.
Tristan Thompson: “We’re still 4-time Eastern Conference champions, so until you take us down from that, teams ain’t got much to say. Boston, Philly, they ain’t got much to say. Boston had homecourt Game 7 and lost. Philly, you guys almost got swept. Toronto – we know that story” pic.twitter.com/gnGqd4mGeM

Celtics forward Marcus Morris thought Thompson’s assessment of the East was hilarious.
“Cut it out. Get that vacation ready early this year fam!” he wrote on Twitter. “Ain’t s— going through the Cavs this year.”
As Draymond Green could tell you, Thompson is still fighting like Cleveland has a chance to get back to the Finals, but it’s just not happening.
