Adrien Broner cited for battery, accused of choking waitress
Adrien Broner was cited by police for misdemeanor battery on Sunday morning after being accused of choking a waitress at a Las Vegas nightclub.
TMZ Sports reports that the troubled boxer was accused of putting his hands around a female server’s neck at Drai’s nightclub, and telling the woman, “B—h, I will knock you out.”
Police came to the club and spoke with both parties. Witnesses apparently supported the waitresses story, and there reportedly was video evidence too. The result was police citing Broner for misdemeanor battery and giving him a court date.
Broner has gone through a rough patch of late. Known for drawing attention to himself, the boxer posted messages on social media last week suggesting he was going to commit suicide, but that did not happen, and he said he was hacked. He went to jail for 10 days in April for a parole violation. He also settled a dispute stemming from an assault and battery at a bowling alley.
