Manny Pacquiao shares bible verse stating gay people should be killed
Manny Pacquiao continues to face serious scrutiny over his barbaric views on homosexuality, and it is obvious that any apology he issues is merely a public relations stunt.
Just hours after Nike decided to terminate its contract with Pacquiao over his latest rant about same-sex marriage, the boxing star took to Instagram to share a bible verse that states gay people should be “put to death.” Filipino news agency ABC-CBN captured a screenshot before Pacquiao deleted the post:
“Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable … If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable,” the verse read. “They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”
Pacquiao has made it clear that his controversial views on homosexuality are rooted in religion. His most recent remarks, which you can read here, were some of his most animated.
Pacquiao is entitled to his own personal beliefs like anyone else, but he would be best off not discussing them publicly.
